Courtesy of: Pamela Kiefer, “STEP ON THIS!” The stone work of Idaho school teacher Pamela Kiefer will make its Washington State premiere during the Third Annual Mill Creek Garden Club Tour on June 24. Improvements to her original designs have reduced the weight on less than 10 pounds, prompting people to bring the stones in from the yard and begin displaying them on the walls of their homes.

The innovative work of artist Pamela Kiefer will be on display for the first time during the Third Annual Mill Creek Garden Tour on June 24.

Stepping stones and wall art from Step on This will be on display in one of the six backyards featured in this year’s tour. Tickets for the tour are $15 each and available beginning in mid-May exclusively from Li’l Sprout Nursery, 17414 Bothell-Everett Hwy.

The school teacher from Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and her daughter began creating their stepping stones as a hobby about 18 years ago, working each year to perfect the process and expanded their cottage industry. Seven years ago demand for lighter-weight hanging wall stones grew when customers began to bring the three-dimensional designs inside their homes.

Kiefer has agreed to return to Mill Creek to deliver custom orders from the garden tour.
