Annual Small Works Show in Edmonds

More than 150 paintings from 50 different artists will be on display in downtown Edmonds when Gallery North host its annual Small Works Show during the month of March. The gallery is open seven days per week at 401 Main Street.

This highly anticipated juried event includes a wide array of small paintings depicting a variety of subjects including landscapes, wildlife, portraiture, still life, and more. All paintings will be for sale, and collectors are advised to come early for the best selection.

The Artists’ Reception and awards ceremony has been scheduled for Saturday, March 9 from 1 until 4 p.m., with the awards set for 2 p.m.

The community is invited to join the celebration, view the many exceptional paintings, and meet the outstanding artists who have contributed to this remarkable show. Gallery visitors will also have a chance to meet the artists at Art Walk Edmonds on Thursday, March 21 from 5 until 8 p.m.

“We are pleased that our annual Small Works Show has gained the attention of so many highly-talented artists,” said Susan Swapp, chairperson for the event. “This year, we have received an incredible number of stunning artworks. We are proud to provide a venue to showcase the very best artwork from those artists who entered the show.”

The paintings will be juried for prizes by Liana Bennett, an award-winning artist who founded the Arts Umbrella Art Center. Liana studied under a scholarship at Art Center School and CalArts in California and began her professional art career at 19. She moved to Washington and the Puget Sound area in the early 80’s.
