The weekly Farmers Market is scheduled to be opened every Tuesday until Aug. 20 from 3 until 7 p.m. in the parking lot of City Hall North.

The vendors are all onboard and local artists are lined up for the second year of the weekly Mill Creek Farmers.

The Mill Creek market opened for the season on Tuesday, June 18, with warm temperatures and crowds of shoppers eager to get first pick at deliveries fresh from the farms and dairies in the Skagit Valley and other local suppliers.

The second season of fresh produce and unique items for the home will all be part of the larger Mill Creek Farmers Market in its new location, in the parking lot of City Hall North.

“The market was grown tremendously since last summer,” proclaimed Meredith Cook, coordinator in the Communications and Marketing Department before she visited the market for the first time on Tuesday. “We’re particularly excited to offer a much larger assortment of fresh produce, as well as some truly unique artisan crafts.”

New offerings, including confectionary items and cooking oils will be available to supplement the abundance of colorful berries, fresh flowers and everything required to create farm-to-table meals.

More than 50 vendors have committed to being part of the Mill Creek market in its new location this summer, with between 30 and 40 booths on any given week, according to Joni Kirk, director of the Mill Creek Communications and Marketing Department.

Local artists have also been scheduled to provide musical entertainment on selected evenings throughout the summer.

The market is scheduled to be open every Tuesday until Aug. 20 from 3p.m. until 7p.m. in its more spacious location.
