Never too late for a photo opp

Politicians and dignitaries braved the hot sun last week to turn over a spade of dirt for the construction project to designed stop the roadway from sinking along 35th Ave. SE, even though the project had been underway for almost a month. The list of dignitaries included Mill Creek Mayor Pam Pruitt, Councilmembers John Steckler and Jared Mead, state Sen. Steve Hobbs, state Representatives Mark Harmsworth and John Lovick as well as County Councilmember Terry Ryan. City staff was represented by Interim City Manager Bob Stowe, Gina Hortillosa, the director of Public Works & Development Services, Tom Rodgers, director of Community and Economic Development, Police Chief Greg Elwin, Joni Kirk, director of Communications and Marketing and Gordon Brink, the coordinator of Marketing and Communications.
