Road rage may have led to late night shooting in Safeway parking lot

A 24-year-old security guard is being questioned in connection with a shooting just before midnight on Thursday, June 6, in the parking lot of the Safeway store at 16304 Bothell-Everett Hwy.

Police responded to a 911 call at 11:45 p.m. to a reported shooting that left one man with multiple gunshot wounds. The security guard told police he had shot a person who displayed a firearm after what police described may have been a road rage incident in the parking lot.

The shooting victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His medical status is unknown.

Detectives are on scene searched for any firearm the shooting victim may have had. The security guard’s handgun was recovered at the scene.

The security guard is a 24-year-old resident of Mill Creek.  The shooting victim is a 60-year-old Bothell man.
