Mill Creek Garden Tour 2018 & Artisan Market

The Key to the Garden Gate

By Lila Johnson | Jun 14, 2018

Mill Creek Garden Club’s only fundraiser unlocks the gates to six scenic gardens, Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Mill Creek Garden Tour & Artisan Market is a hometown tradition packed with opportunities to explore, walk, sightsee and gather ideas with gardeners, looky-loos, social butterflies and bargain shoppers alike.  Have fun while contributing to the Garden Club’s Grant Program—all for the price of a $15 ticket.

With a purchased Tour Guide in hand, nature lovers can drive, pedal and walk to get a peek into the featured yards, all while socializing with the homeowners and Garden Club members. Don’t miss the MCGC volunteers in their brightly colored garden aprons!  Take photos, ask questions and keep notes because you’ll find lots of inspiration and ideas galore for your own garden.

New this year is an Artisan Market— craft persons will be selling nature-inspired art, yard art, garden treasures and even plants in the six showcased yards—it’s a “Garden Hop & Shop.” Be sure to bring cash and checks as the artists are giving a percentage of their sales to the Garden Club’s Grant Program.

The market will include metal sculpture artist Tom Williams; nature-inspired pottery from Martha Dankers;  Paula Bashforth brings her lovely fused-glass creations; Pam Kiefer returns with her handmade concrete stepping stones and wall art; Sandi Staples brings her unique mosaic art pieces; Kathy and Keith Dalluge make planters, garden art and birdhouses out of  recycled-wood; Linda Gilmartin showcases her glass garden art and there will be planted containers and plants from Lynn’s Gift and Garden.  Lynn is a Garden Club member, tour sponsor, artisan and her business will be open on Tour Day. The address and information can be found in the Tour Guide.

Tickets are on sale for $15 for all ages, $20 on Tour Day. Please note:  IF tickets remain on Tour Day, they will only be available at Li’l Sprout Nursery, 17414 B-E Hwy., Mill Creek for $20.

Tickets are now available at Artisan Custom Framing and Li’l Sprout Nursery in Mill Creek. Tour tickets are also available at McAuliffe’s Valley Nursery, Molbak’s, Sky Nursery, Snohomish Garden Center and Sunnyside Nursery.

The official tour guide is your key into the gardens—unlock the gates for an afternoon of fun and giving back to the community.
