A week after winning Wesco 4A/Sub-Regional titles, three Glacier Peak wrestlers advanced to the finals at the 4A Region 1 tournament.

But this time all three – Parker Hardy, Tim Mandzyuk and Josh Erling – finished second Saturday, Feb. 10, at Cavelero Mid-High School in Lake Stevens.

The three all qualified for Mat Classic XXX Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16-17, at the Tacoma Dome.

Hardy lost a 7-2 decision to Lake Stevens’ Kyle Lacoursiere in the 120-pound finals. Hardy beat Lacoursiere 3-0 in the Sub-Regional finals.

Mandzyuk lost by a fall to Enunclaw’s Quinton Southcott at 145. At 195, Erling fell 12-6 to Auburn’s Austini Riehl.

Glacier Peak’s Gavin MacDonald took fifth at 126 and Dylan Owen finished fifth at 152. Jackson’s James Ryan was sixth at 160. The top four finishers advance to state, while the fifth place is an alternate.

Archbishop Murphy’s Matthew Keck earned a berth to the 2A tournament with his third place finish at 195.
